Robert A. Narotzky, MD
Neurological Surgery
Dr. Robert “Bob” Narotzky founded Central Wyoming Neurosurgery in 1999 in Casper after twenty years as a successful neurosurgeon at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Narotzky is Board Certified in Neurological Surgery.
As a former President of the Wisconsin Neurosurgical Society, Dr. Narotzky has always been committed to building and growing trauma programs. Here in Wyoming, he is an integral part of the trauma program and is a frequent instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support around the state.
Dr. Narotzky has been a Principal Investigator on many medical studies including the North American Symposium Carotid Endarterectomy Trial (NASCET), Aspirin Carotid Endarterectomy Study (ACE), COMPASS Frameless Stereotactic Study (Regulus Navigator), and BAK Spine Tech Anterior Cervical Spine Fusion Study. Most recently, he was a Principal Investigator on the Prestige Artificial Cervical Disk Study.

Dr. Narotzky resides in Casper, Wyoming with his wife and family. He enjoys outdoor activities and is an avid bow hunter. Dr. Narotzky has bow-hunted big game around the globe, including most recently Red Stag in New Zealand and a Brown Bear (Grizzly) in Alaska. If you like hunting, be sure to ask him if you can look at his photo book from Africa or ask about his close encounter with a grizzly in Alaska.
Dr. Narotzky has always worked tirelessly for the benefit of kids and is a large supporter of kids education and injury prevention programs around Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain Region. His favorite cause is the prevention of equine accidents and Dr. Narotzky regularly provides horse riding helmets for kids in the community through "Safe Kids" Day, held annually in the community. |

Thomas A. Kopitnik, Jr., MD, FACS
Neurological Surgery
One of the leading neurosurgeons in the field of microvascular neurosurgery and stroke, Dr. Thomas Kopitnik is an internationally renowned specialist in the surgical treatment of intracranial aneurysms, vascular malformations, occlusive cerebrovascular disease, and trigeminal neuralgia. He has authored 65 publications and one comprehensive textbook on cerebrovascular disease.
Formerly, Dr. Kopitnik was the Birsner Family Professor of Neurological Surgery and directed the cerebrovascular surgery section in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He has surgically repaired over 1,200 intracranial aneurysms, removed over 300 cerebral vascular malformations, and performed over 100 extracranial-to-intracranial bypass procedures over a 14-year period.
Dr. Kopitnik also directs the trigeminal neuralgia support group for north Texas and has performed over 200 microvascular decompressions for trigeminal neuralgia. Dr. Kopitnik is establishing a referral center for cerebrovascular disease and Trigeminal Neuralgia in the Rocky Mountain region.

Dr. Kopitnik resides in Casper, Wyoming with his wife and three children. He enjoys outdoor activities including river rafting, boating, and hiking, and is an excellent marksman with both a pistol and a rifle. Additionally, he is a black belt in judo.
Dr. Kopitnik holds patents on many of the specialty surgical instruments used for clipping aneurysms and is a frequent lecturer and guest speaker at medical conferences around the world. |

Debra Steele, MD
Neurological Surgery
Dr. Debra Steele joined Central Wyoming Neurosurgery in August 2005 directly from New York, New York, where she completed a Fellowship in Surgical Neuro-Oncology at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is the only physician in the state of Wyoming with this advanced Fellowship training.
Prior to living in New York, Dr Steele was Chief Resident at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she trained with Dr Kopitnik.
She is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Currently, Dr. Steele is the Medical Director of Neurological Surgery at United Medical Center in Cheyenne.

Dr. Todd Hammond, MD
Pain Management
Dr. Todd Hammond is an experienced anesthesiologist who chose to leave the operating room and dedicate his career to pain management. Dr. Hammond is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine (ABPM)—the only Diplomate in the state of Wyoming and one of less than 2,000 in the country.
Dr. Hammond has received extensive specialized training in pain management and performs a complete array of interventional pain management procedures for Central Wyoming Neurosurgery.

Dr. Hammond is a Wyoming native, originally from Cheyenne. He now resides in Casper, Wyoming, with his wife and three childern. Every summer Dr. Hammond participates in several golf tournaments around the state.
